History of duty
FRANKEN
Tanker oiler with mechanical drive. Driven with four 9 cylinders Diesel engines. Equipped wiyh two screws with regular stroke.She was built in shipyard Deutche Wrek Kiel in 1937 year. However ship was not delivered to use before the begining of II WW. The hulk was launched 08.03.1939. After begining of war the works were provided slowly, only when the shipyard did not have more urgent works. In 1942 year Franken was towed away to Burmeister & Wain shipyard in Copenhagen, where she was finished and started his service on 17.03.1943. The tanker oiler operated only in Baltic Sea region as provider for battleship the Prinz the Eugen. She provided torpedo ships and minesweeping ships. She was sunk by Soviet bombers near Hel 08.04.1945 year.
