Kriegsmarine tanker. Equiped with four 9 cylinder diesel engnies and two fixed pitch proppelers.
"Deutche Werk" Kiel, shipyard have started FARANKEN construction in 1937. She was launched on March 8th, 1939.
She started her service for Kriegsmarine on March 17th, 1943. She had sunk on April 8th, 1945 after bomb attack.
Works in shipyard started in 1937 but she was not finished till the Second World War began.
When the war started construction went very slow and only then when shipyard has not any urgent works. In 1942 FRANKEN has been towed to Burmeister & Wain shipyard, Kopenhagen. There she was finished and join Kriegsmarine on March 17th, 1943. She was operating only on Baltic Sea also as a suppling vessel for Prinz Eugen ironclad. She was also suppling torpedo and mine sweeping vessels. She was attacked by soviet air forces and soon sunk on April 8th, 1945 nearby Hel. She is lying in two pices at depth of 47msw to 72msw.

Diving:
Very interesting wrecks nearby Hel. Diving there is allowed for skillful divers. There are lots of nets and fishing lines. Wreck is in very good condition with splited bow section.
