History of duty
Bremer Westen
Freight ship with steel construction.
Owner Bremer Reederei Bruno Bischoff, Bremen. Two deck ship, equipped with four three tone capacity cranes .
Ordered 27.03.1961.Launched 25.09.1962, sea tests were finished 14.12.1961. Ship transported small fragments and not loose goods. Thanks to two deck constructions she could take palette, goods packed in bags, but first of all tractors and agricultural machines.
The ship sinked at Polish coasts 27.07.1975. Six persons died. Rest of the crew was saved by training ships s / s ZENIT and s / s HORYZONT from the Higher Sea School in Gdynia.
In March 2006 Polish divers checked it during diving from training ship s/s Horyzont II of Sea Akademy in Gdynia. The captain and first officer of HORYZONT II in 1975 were crew members on "Zenith" and on the first "Horizon".
