Dive area description
Generally Baltic sea is located in central-north of Europa. Polish cost of Baltic sea runs from area of Szczecin near German border to Elblag area near Russian (Kaliningrad district) border. Mostly it is sandy coast. Sometimes there are sandy cliffs. Near area of Gdańsk there is Hel peninsula.


During II World Wars in that small area thousands of people died, many of them on sinking vessels. We think of over one houndred wrecks (have a look for the most popular wrecks map) in area of Bay of Gdańsk. In this area bottom never reaches 110 msw. Mostly bottom is flat and sandy on avarage depth of 50 - 70 msw. Anyway you may find wrecks from even +2m to recreational depth of 30msw.

There are 5 most important harbors: Gdynia, Jastarnia, Hel and open sea Wladyslawowo and Leba.


It takes no longer then 3 houers to reach the farest wrecks positions. Well known Wilhelm Gustloff wreck lies on the bottom just 23nm from Leba harbour. Some wrecks bellow 30msw are only 10 minutes from Hel harbour.
